SERENADE, unsigned/handwriting verified (see below), presumably planned song for one of Hildegarde's public performances in the war years of the early 1940s since there is no record of her having performed this song in one of her 1940's radio programs which are recorded at old-time radio sites, maybe performed for some servicemen's venue with its title referring to "kitchen police [k. p.]" much spoofed by both service people and civilians…11 different scores from 1 to 3 pages for instruments and three tenors, including piano which Hildegarde would play as she sang, accordian, violins, trumpets, and drums, copyist stamp at the end of each score; ONE-OF-A-KIND ITEM relating to RARE sheet music, only 3 copies of the sheet music recorded at WorldCat/OCLC, one found recorded at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, one for sale on (5/20.21); handwriting authenticated with lifetime guarantee by seller (see provenance below) NOTES: the song K. P. Serenade by Kay Twomey and Al Goodheart was published as sheet music in 1942 by Gordon, Kaufman & Real, Inc., New York, and the song appeared in the 1943 movie Hoosier Holiday; PROVENANCE: this group of annotated scores was among a large number of Hildegarde annotated scores that had been a part of her manager/companion Anna Sosenko's office materials kept by her for copyright and permission purposes acquired at a Westchester County, N. Y., estate sale /// CONDITION: well-preserved, negligible wear.
