About This Item
This volume is a collection of poems in praise of the unique natural beauty of the Ottawa Valley. Likely published around 1940, it presents an account of life in rural Ontario of a bygone age. These nature poems were written by Janet Pollock Graham, who knew firsthand of what she wrote, being a farmer's wife in Aregenteuil County on the banks of the Ottawa River. In addition to poetry, she for a number of years wrote a column for children in the Lachute Watchman and the Granby Leader-Mail which consisted of fairy tales of her own invention.
This small volume is in very good condition, and is signed by the author on the title page. There is some wear to the paper covers particularly near the spine ont he back, but otherwise it is in excellent condition.
