About This Item

Avon Books, New York., 1955. First Avon Edition.. Softcover.. Fair/--. Paperback.. NON SMOKING STORE. My listing includes PHOTO OF ACTUAL BOOK for sale. Book Interior FAIR to Poor / Covers Fair. Covers are black/white, lettering white/red, photo front courtesy of Wide World Photos. Spine is a bit cocked and lumpy due to glue drying out and cracking, also has a crack across it making a rip in the paper 1/2 inch onto back, 1/2 inch across spine and 1/2 inch onto front cover. Covers and spine are flat, clean, no rips, two old bent corners, two vertical creases on spine, colour chipped off edges of spine in places, front cover has signs of old creases from handling, also little chips of colour off in many places due to age and shelf wear but front cover is whole, solid and legible. Back cover has some rubbing of the colour near the spine and the white is a bit shelf soiled, book has minor edge wear including small chips at top of spine. Page edges sunned. Inside of book is clean, clear, flat. Quite a bit of age darkening inside covers and on pages. No dog ears. Binding is completely broken at page 104-105 but no pages are missing. Pages 105 to 142 are in original glue bound together but this set of pages is loose from the book. Pages 143 to 216 is the same - the original glue is holding all the pages together in a set. Pages 217 to end of book are secure in the book. The spine is visible and the glue is dark brown. Despite all this, no pages are missing and all are legible, none are ripped, or damaged. Avon Book T-259 35 cents. Translated by Warner Wells. Complete and Unabridged. No photos, no illustrations. Foreword. The Place And The People. Postscript. Glossary.

WILLOWBAY BOOKS

THERE IS NO COVID-19 IN MY STORE AND MY SALES ARE ONLINE ONLY. IMPORTANT NOTE RE POSTAGE: I love books and most of my books are NEW or LIKE NEW. I'm very careful in describing my books accurately and I've done so to the best of my ability using the IOBA Book Condition guidelines. All items are from a smoke-free, clean, dry environment. My books are from a large private collection, very well taken care of and rarely handled. All descriptions and photos are of the actual books I'm selling. I'm happy to answer any questions regarding my books, just ask. IMPORTANT RE POSTAGE: I'm in Canada so books to the USA/Other Countries are International shipments and may be delayed by CUSTOMS and/or HOMELAND SECURITY. I'm using the Biblio standard postage matrix, which gives average postage fees, therefore sometimes for an OVERSIZE or LARGE heavy book or expensive book, the postage may be too low and may require extra charges. If I know this in advance, I will notify the buyer before the order is processed.

This is not a huge book warehouse, it is a small one-owner store run by a true book lover. POSSIBLE DELAYS: I'm elderly and disabled and while this usually does not cause a delay in order processing, it sometimes may cause a small delay for me to get to the post office. Thanks for your understanding. I will always email you with the date your package was shipped, and shipping method used.

I'm sure you'll enjoy looking through my books, and purchasing from WILLOWBAY BOOKS. Thanks. Ms. Bronwen Kathy Williams, Ontario, Canada.
