A handsome solid first edition, this copy was signed by the author to a friend. 192 pages, with the flags that flew over Amelia Island through different periods of history as endpapers. Contains history from the earliest times through the Civil War. High quality slick paper has abundant b&w illustrations, photos, and a few maps. No dust jacket as issued, but a lovely drawing of the shore for the laminated front illustration.
