Covers moderately scuffed, light scattered foxing to text, lithograph plates are very foxed. 2 volumes, large octavo, brown calf and boards with later rebacking, red and green morocco spine labels; xx, 502; (1), 614 pp. Illustrated with portrait frontispiece, folding county map, and 43 lithograph plates (38 are double-page). Text interleaved with a great many blanks, most with manuscript additions by an unknown hand, a few illustrations added, some bound in, some tipped to blank leaves. Recent cloth slipcase.

Originally published in 1700, an exhaustive study of the history and habitation of Hertfordshire.
