Second edition, folio, (iv), 734, (2, 17 index, 1) pp. Faint ink stamps of the Bradford Free Library to the first three leaves, title page with an old signature and several minor closed tears to the edges. 20th century quarter calf, marbled sides, blue spine label. Very good. Born in Italy of Spanish descent, Davila fought in a number of the campaigns he describes. Originally published in Venice in 1630, the English translation first appeared in 1648.
