[title continued]: Containing an Account of the Abbey, Churches, Nuns, Clergy, Representatives in Parliament, Recorders, Mayors, etc. Also of the eminent Persons who have resided in the Town and Neighbourhood. Engraved portrait of Alfred as frontispiece. 8vo (7 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches), pages: vii:219. Early full tan speckled calf, decorative gilt rule to sides, spine floral gilt in compartments with crimson and green lettering pieces. Chip out of base of spine and in 3rd compartment, slightly at headband. However an attractive binding in good condition and very clean internally. The list of subscribers to this work at front lists only 78 names who between them subscribed to only 86 copies. Very rare, only 1 copy cited on Copac.
