G- (Ex-library, with usual library markings, perforation stamp used on first and last pages and others incl. plates on occasion, text pages are in good shape, 32% of plates are missing but often left image-faded protective pages behind, signatures are loosening, two pages each of text in Lincoln and York are missing, rebound covers however are in terrific shape with little wear, an incomplete reading copy.). Red buckram, library binding, 4 vols., var. pag. [144], [126], [130], [106] pp., 256 BW plates. Heading on separate illustrated title pages: Graphic & Historical Description of the Cathedrals of Great Britain. A reference work that details the following cathedrals: St. Asaph (Flintshire), Bangor (Caernarvonshire), Bath (Somersetshire), Bristol, Canterbury (Kent), Carlisle (Cumberland), Chester, Chichester (Sussex), St. David's (Pembrokeshire), Durham, Ely (Cambridgeshire), Exeter (Devonshire), Gloucester, Hereford, Landaff (Glamorganshire), Lichfield & Coventry (Staffordshire & Warwickshire), Lincoln, Norwich, Oxford (Oxfordshire), St. Paul (London), Peterburgh (Northamptonshire), Rochester (Kent), Salisbury (Wiltshire), Wells (Somersetshire), Winchester (Hampshire), Worcester, and York. Sadly, a third of the plates were sliced out of these volumes after they were rebound (82 of 256 plates). A list of the missing items can be supplied upon request.
