Hartford: H. S. Parsons & Co. Good. 1842. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 624 pages; 1842 H. S. Parsons & Co. HC 1st edition thus, including treatment of Pennsylvania. Rebound in mid 20th century heavy burgundy buckram with utilitationa gilt titling to spine. Illustrated with woodcuts and maps, some full page and some in-text. Lacks the folding map. Scattered spotting and foxing to pages, generally light to moderate but here and there heavier. Several pages with shallow loss along the front margin not affecting the text; page 329/330 missing the top front corner of the page with loss of a small area of text. One plate has had a closed tear mended on the reverse blank surface. No marks; trace evidence of a bookplate to front pastedown. Good only .
