It was prepared with consultations with his father who was a Sailing Master. He served on the Upper Lakes during the War of 1812. It is also a comparison with the accounts by MacKenzie, Cooper, and Lossing. He compiled his work based on these accounts. Very scarce, No copies on the internet.
