London: Henry Colburn, Great Marlborough Street, 1840. 1st Edition . Fine/Poor. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. pp: [vii]viii - xxvi [1]2-576; [iii]iv - viii [1] 2 - 646. TWO-VOLUME FIRST EDITION. Two volumes uniformly bound in blue leather covered boards. Both volumes have gilt lettering within black title pieces on the spine. All edges of both volumes are marbled. Both volumes have marbled endpapers. Volume I has a generic bookplate on the front paste down. Other than overall light wear and soiling, the title page of volume II is loose, and last page of volume II has some tape repair to the edge. The text blocks of both volumes are clean and free of foxing.
