About This Item
Claremont, N.H.: Printed For The Town Claremont Manufacturing, 1876. Book. Fine. Full Leather. First Edition. First Edition. Thick quarto, full navy blue morocco with gilt decorative borders and corner stamps, gilt spine titles and decorations and gilt dentelles. Decorative endpapers in navy blue with small white diamonds and a curious mottled silvering. 726 pp. including index and extensive Historical Miscellaney which includes rolls of citizens on an annual basis since the founding. Illustrated with 23 full page black and white photographs, (6 buildings, 7 landscapes and 10 portraits of leading citizens). An excellent source for genealogical studies as well as a complete history of a New England township for the first century of its history from the American Revolution. A very nice, clean, solid volume with excellent attractive smooth and almost completely unblemished leather and clear bright, gilt decorations and titles. A handful of tiny neat pencil notations, and a couple of small spots of foxing but mostly clean bright and fresh and no damage to illustrations. Extremities of binding show light rubbing and top of spine has a short downward scuff. With all of these very minor flaws noted still a very good plus to near fine copy. SCARCE..
