6 volumes. 8vo, each volume runs approx. 700pp and includes 48 plates with notes by Dean Milman, M. Guizot and Dr. William Smith. Bound in original publisher's half dark burgundy morocco boards with marbled boards. Marbling matched on the endpapers. Printed on uncut laid paper, teg. Small chips to the lower spines of volumes 3 & 6. Otherwise a very good clean set. Number 556 of 1000. OCLC: 1069267227.
