New York: D. Appleton & Co. , 1858. Half-Leather. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Probable first edition. "From its earliest settlement to the close of the eighteenth century." 799 pages, including a biographical chapter and appendices. Previous owner's names in neat script. Black leather and paper covered boards with matching end leaves. Leather and gilt remarkably fresh. Raised hubs on spine. Some wear to spine head from pulling. Some scattered foxing as would be expected, but very readable. Some small illustrations. Tightly bound.
