About This Item
London: The Grolier Society, 1903. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Twelve Volume Set. Bound in 3/4 Red leather over marble boards. Gilt lettering to spine. Set is limited to 1000 copies for England and America and is #456. Containing over 1200 color plates and illustrations. This set is from the library of Carl Weschecke, founder of Llewelyn Press, publisher of books on the occult and supernatural. His signature in Volume one. He has also used a light pencil with occasional lines in margins. There is some edge wear to these volumes and light scuffing to leather. Volume ten has a tear at head of spine with some loss of leather. A thirteenth volume, "History of Egypt in the Light of Recent Discovery", by King and Hall, published in 1906, two years after the publication of the present set, is not included. Overall condition is very good.
