Marbled paper over boards with 3/4 tan leather, tooled at spine, and with distinct gilt lettering and decoration. Decorated endpapers. Each volume contains a tissue-protected black-and-white portrait illustration at frontis. Sturdy, tightly-bound volumes, possibly unread. Marble stain on 3 edges, with light dust staining to top edge. Very minor scuffing to covers and tips. Volume I: 601 pp.; Volume II: 595 pp.; Volume III: 548 pp.; Volume IV: 581 pp.; Volume V: 509 pp. + 63 pp. Index of entire set. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
