Royal 8vo (341 x 215mm): x,226,[2]pp, with color frontispiece and 35 color and monochrome plates from Wilfred Drake's original drawings, all with descriptive tissue guards. Publisher's quarter parchment over drab paper-covered boards, top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Spine toned and lightly rubbed, else an excellent example, tightly bound and clean throughout. First published the previous year in London. Includes bibliographies of stained-glass and catalogues of Swiss glass collections. N. B. Text body is clean and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Previous owner's book-plate laid in on front endpaper. Original paper over boards, x, 226 pages, color frontis and 36 plates, four in color (if I counted right), all with captioned tissue; includes a Bibliography of Stained-glass, Bibliography of Swiss Stained-glass, Catalogues of Swiss Glass Collections, Unidentified Swiss Signatures, The Leads, and an Index. Exterior of this copy is in rough shape. There is extensive chipping at spine ends and along side of spine, paper is discolored and rippled, some paper loss on back, corners bumped with a lot of wear, damp stain on both covers, wear along board edges.
