About This Item

London (1956-58): Cassell & Co. First Edition. Hard Cover with Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Near Fine. Large Octavo. Four volumes, all first printings, bound in publisher's original red cloth; top edges stained red. Dust jackets are fine to near fine, with prices showing on front flaps; a fine, handsome set, internally clean and bright, with no markings of any kind. A nice example of a fragile work, of which Churchill quipped, "It opens like an angel's wings."
