About This Item

Secker & Warburg, 1979. Hardback in Dust Wrapper.. Very Good - in Very Good DJ. Bruised at head of spine and top corners with commensurate ruffling to the DJ. Price Clipped.. First edition (first printing). Hardback in dust wrapper ). Physically 9¼” x 6” (1.1 kg); 626pp; Index; Illustrated / decorative end papers. A masterly synthesis of European civilisation. Above all, politics and culture march hand in hand, often in partnership, often in opposition. The whole spectrum of unfolding European history is displayed, from prehistoric times to 1939 when, in the author’s view, the direct predominance of Europe in world history vanished. About BookLovers of Bath

BookLovers of Bath is set in the pastoral idyll of Peasedown St. John in Somerset (God's Own Country) in the south west of England. My wife and I owned the village Post Office until the modern world caught up with us in 2014. At that point I converted the premises to a small book shop, Fact or Fable, with a stock of around 4,000 titles in stock. I've been selling books worldwide since 1997 and rather hope to get the hang of it shortly…
