Hardcover bound in blue textured cloth. The bindings show rubbing and wear, and the spines are a little sunned. Some splash marks on the bindings. The front inner hinge of Volume II is cracking. In Volume II, one of the portraits had been torn out and reattached with cellophane tape, now browned. Volume III is a little shaken, and the rear inner hinge is starting. The third volume also has some damping at the top of the front cover. Pages 149-172 have a large hard crease, affecting the text at the bottom corner and up the fore edge, affecting the text, and the last few leaves of this section have the folded section broken off. Thus, a reading or reference set only.
