Profusely illustrated, including many plates, and with handcolored vignettes on the title pages. Seven facsimile hornbooks are present in special compartments at the front of each volume. In addition, an eighth facsimile is laid into Volume II, The New Royal Battledore, a keepsake by Vince Lozito at the Eagle Press for the Sacramento Book Collectors Club. Vellum lightly soiled else a fine set. A comprehensive work and still the best on the subject to date. .
