In stamped-signed fine binding by Sangorski & Sutcliffe London of half dark blue morocco over marbled boards, the backs with red morocco labels and intricate gilt tooling, marbled end papers, top edge gilt., ribbon marker. Near Fine, bookplate removal remnants front paste down, a few small rubs at tips. Part of the Broadway Translation Series, undertaken by Routledge and Dutton between 1923-1930, with 51 titles issued. "This new series offers to English-speaking lovers of good books translations of great authors of the past. The texts are taken from existing translations where such are available and are of a high degree of excellence. If no translation has before been made, or, where made, is of inferior quality, a new version has been undertaken. It is intended that every volume shall be a contribution to the Literature of Translation."(Times Literary Supplement, April 5, 1923).
