Madras: Pharoah and Co.. Contemporary bindings, with brown calf corners and spines, marbled boards, all show rubbing, with bumped and rubbed corners and spine ends. Ex-library, with number stamp on the last page of each volume, else no library markings. Name inked on rear paste-down of each volume, otherwise pages are clean and unmarked, bindings are sound. First published in 1763 as a one volume edition, Orme continued to revise and expand his work through 1778. The 3 volume 4th edition was first published in 1803, and reprinted in Madras in 1861. Vol. I: 436 + xcvi (Index); Vol. II: 740 + unpaginated Alphabetical List of Geographical and Proper Names; Vol. III: 35 fold-out maps and plans referenced in Volumes 1 and II, all in very good condition. .
