Boston: Hilliard, Gray And Co., 1835. First Edition. Very good+ in its near original blue-green, blind embossed cloth covered boards with gilt text on the spine A 12mo measuring 7 1/4 by 4 1/2 inches with the unfortunate fact that the spine has been stamped up-side-down with gilt text. The cloth over the lower tips of the boards and one small spot on the heel of the spine is worn through. tips of the boards and in a few places on The contents are quite clean and free of foxing; however the end sheets do show mild foxing. 300 pages of text followed by 8 pages of ads by the publisher. Illustrated with a frontispiece map (with spots of foxing) of the Island and one plate from an engraving. Wright Howes considers this title "mildly rare". (Howes, M-195; Sabin, 43687)
