Hardback bound in original full leather. The spine is covered with brown cloth book tape. The front pastedown is possibly no original but is seems still fairly early. There is an 1871 signature on the front flyleaf of Edgar Richards and another and earlier signature on the second flyleaf of "G. R. Richards." A notation beneath this signature is illegible. The binding shows heavy rubbing and abrasions about the edges. The text is a little toned and has occasional foxing. Volume II only, of a two volume set.
