Book measures 46x28.5.cm. 187pp, 2 parts in one, with separate titles, titles in red and black, engraved frontis, 238 engraved plates, 5 double page maps, namely, 'Map of Paradise or the Garden of Eden', 'Map of the forty years travels of the children of Isreal out of Egypt, etcetera. Bound in full modern dark calf, panelled boards, raised bands, ornate gil tooling within compartments, marble endpapers. Binding in fine clean firm condition. Internally, ownership inscription on top margin of title page, dated 1702, also on verso of frontis, dated 1750, fronits page rough on edge/margin.Some occasional dirt or grubby marks, a few plates with short tears, some double page maps split along fold. Generally pages and plates in very good clean condition. throughout. A very nice copy. . The second Corrected and Enlarged . Full Calf. Very Good Plus. Folio.

Liverpool: Caxton Press, printed by Nuttall, Fisher, and Dixon, no date [circa 1840]. [Bible] FINELY BOUND AND ILLUSTRATED. Folio (41 x 26cm), pp.[2] 960 [2]. With 45 engraved plates by various artists, including an engraved frontispiece and a decorated title page. Plates dated variously between 1815 and 1839. Contemporary tan full panelled calf, with gilt titles to burgundy label on spine, and further gilt decoration. All edges marbled, and brown endpapers. A black ink ownership to the front pastedown, dated 1842. Heavy toning to leaves up to about p.120; quite crisp and clean thereafter. A 3cm tear to the margin of the plate facing p.124, with moderate spotting and a few small nicks and marks to numerous other plates. Upper joint starting, with moderate general wear and bumping to binding. Very good. This edition seems to have first appeared around 1815, with commentary by the Wesleyan Preacher James Wood (1751-1840), but this copy has plates dated as late as 1839 inserted into it. Not in Darlow and Moule.
