The first part of the narrative covers the period from 1859 to the eve of WWI. The second part is concerned with their service in France from 1915, & later in the Macedonian theatre from December 1916. Six months later they moved to Palestine to join Allenby’s EEF. After a year’s campaigning they were sent back to France in the wake of the German offensive.
