Boston: Phillips, Sampson and Co. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1855. First Edition. Hardcover. Publisher's gilt-titled embossed brown cloth. Three volume set. Xxxvi, 618, xvii, 610, xiv, 476pp. First editions of volumes 1 and 2; volume 3 dated 1859, second edition. Inscribed by Prescott to the ffep of v3 "From the Author, Boston December 10th, 1858." Tipped in to same page is small paper slip "With Mr Prescott's Compliments" in apparently his hand. Bookplates and names stamped to each volume. Mild insecting to edges, spine ends have been repaired. V3 has two holes repaired to spine and few small holes to front board. Scattered foxing. ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; Signed by Author .
