Deep brown binding, beautiful gilt designs, 780 pages. Introduction by Louis Kronenberger, illustrations by T.M. Cleland. Four ridges on spine. Lettering, designs stamped with gorgeous accents of 22kt. gold -- a hallmark of fine bookmaking. The leather was hand selected from individually tanned hides. Edges gilded three sides to enhance elegance of the book. Endpapers are beautiful satin moiré, specially dyed for the publisher. Satin ribbon page marker bound in. Condition: Fine, pristine. [While other books online have been read but still classified as fine or new, this book was never read. It's new.] Book kept in temperature-controlled bookcase. In gift-giving condition, very collectible. This book by Henry Fielding is considered a landmark in novel-writing, the classic Tom Jones. It's packed with comical, lustful people; character driven - with contrasts of high and low life. One authority said it has one of the three most perfect plots every planned. It's Fielding's most popular work. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We tend to describe each book in a reserved, conservative manner, rather than oversell a book or sidestep the responsibility of addressing its flaws. We describe our books in detail, pointing out the precise condition of each book based on our opinion.
