Canberra: Australian War Memorial, 1951. Book. Fine. Hardcover. Later Printing. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Large format hardcover, green cloth imprinted with dark blue lettering and anchor motif in partial dust-jacket. 200 pages. Foreword by Admiral Sir Guy Royle. Illustrated with 16 color plates, numerous black and white vintage photographs and original drawings. Many of the photographs and sketches were done by the ship's companies, the remainder supplied by artists of the Australian War Memorial, Military History Section. Title page retains 1944 date but this copy is a later printing from 1951. An illustrated collection of prose, poetry and humor compiled by serving members of the Royal Australian Navy during the last year of World War II. No previous ownership marks. Front panel and spine of original dust-jacket loosely mounted on archival paper and preserved under acetate covers. Inner covers show small tanned spots where acetate had been affixed to covers. Else book is in clean, square, fresh and unmarked condition. Remaining jacket very good. Near fine in a fair [overall] jacket. .
