Dustwrapper rubbed and edgeworn, with some archival tape repairs to reverse; spine cocked; edges and top fore-corner of rear free endpaper fishmothed; earlier owner's name on front pastedown; some foxing to edges. Good. "Handsome, charismatic, brave and daring - these were some of the qualities that made HO de Villiers the world's most exciting rugby fullback in the late 1960s, but if there was one special quality above all others that made him South Africa's most talked about rugby player of his era, it was almost certainly his genius for succeeding gloriously by defying the traditionalists and doing precisely what they said he shouldn't be doing." .
