About This Item
London: Jonathan Cape, 1982. First edition, first printing. Published by Jonathan Cape in London, 1982. This is a near fine copy. There is a small tear to the top right-hand corner, slight creasing throughout and surface scratches. It has not been price clipped, showing the original £8.95 net price. The boards are free from notable chips and marks, though slightly bumped at the spine tips. The text blocks are bright and white throughout. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in near fine condition. An unofficial follow-up to three BBC Two TV documentaries that were part of the Chronicle series. The paperback version was first published in 1983 by Corgi books. A sequel to the book, called The Messianic Legacy, was originally published in 1986. The original work was reissued in an illustrated hardcover version with new material in 2005.
