Ex-library (stamped Persian Center) Swedish artist Karl Momen created 18 symbolic paintings, each representative of a major character from well recognized works of Shakespeare and Wagner. Introductions by Erland Jospehson and James A. Mason. Karl Momen (b. 1934) is a Swedish architect, painter and sculptor. Iranian-born, he painted portraits of Stalin and the Shah of Iran early in his career. He also studied with the surrealist painter Max Ernst, and studied architecture at the Kunst Academy in Stuttgart, Germany. Measures 9.75 inches square.
