London: C. Arthur Pearson, 1894-1895. 1st Edition . Fair. 6 x 9.5 inches (15.5 x 24 cm). First seven volumes of this scarce Victorian women's weekly magazine. Green cloth bindings, illustrated to front boards and spines. Rubbing to board edges, slight wear to ends of spines and corners of boards. Volume I is badly stained to rear cover and final 46 pages. Four volumes are cracked to endpaper joints with very loose bindings. Pages browned. Final two issues in Volume I are bound in the wrong order. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper in all volumes. An damaged set but still a perfectly acceptable reading copy. Packed with illustrations and vintage ads, including many example of Victorian fashion. Overall condition is Fair.
