Half green buckram, gray/green paper boards. Cover lettering & decoration in brown & gilt. . 1st edition, 1st state. P 173 "On war, on war", leaf an integral part, NOT a cancel; furthur this page 173 & preceding leaf still attached at their bottom edges. This bottom edge attachment the case for about every 20th pages. Book has never been read which is also borne out by the pristine nature of the contents. All three text block edges bright & clean. HOWEVER: cover a bit shabby; all tips & front edge of upper board worn, gilt lettering faded some, cover with overall light soiling. An account of a leisurely auto trip from eastern PA to Indiana. .
