Tokyo: John Weatherhill, Inc., 1968. Hardcover. Very Good/no dj. 7 x 10.2". Thirteenth Printing 1 Hardcover in Very Good condition, this privately printed book is bound in Thai silk. Photograph mounted on front cover reproduces a painting by a Thai artist, and it shows various stages of sil weaving in a house on the klong. The book was originally commissioned by James H.W. Thompson, an American businessman who flourished in the Thai silk trade after WWII, before disappearing in 1967. This is a Thirteenth printing (1983) of the first edition published in 1968. Photography throughout the book (by Brian Brake) of Thompson's art works and house that he built to contain them. This particular copy was previously owned by Betty Strasenburgh, a renowned musician and philanthropist in Rochester, N.Y.
