Brooklyn, NY: Jean Hugard, 1943. 322 pages + 4 pages of index. 4to. Each issue hole-punched and stored in a 3-ring binder. Complete, with all issues present. Note: pages 275-278 are supplied only in photocopy. Signed by Hugard in the top margin of volume 1, number 1. Jean Hugard (1871-1959) was one of the greatest stage magicians of his era and in 1951 was named Dean of Magicians by the Society of American Magicians, only the fourth to receive that honor. Around 1930, he semi-retired from performing and became a prolific writer and editor of magic publications, including Hugard's Magic Monthly--the first 48 issues of which are offered here. All issues are in very good condition, with light uniform toning of pages; the top 2 holes have pulled loose (easily repaired with Avery hole labels).. SIGNED. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Magazine.
