E-156: Library of Congress. Very Good. 1946. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Hardcover. 8vo. Government Printing Office, 1946. 16 pgs. One of 500 copies signed by W. Somerset Maugham and distributed on the event of his address: the remaining 300 were issued later with a cancel colophon. Bound in original blue-gray printed boards. Boards very lightly rubbed and worn. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks, binding tight and solid. Signed limited edition of the address given by Maugham upon the Library's acceptance of the original autograph manuscript of his masterpiece, Of Human Bondage. Accompanied by the original accompanying program which is very worn and suffers from a bit of bio-preadation on the edges of the wrappers. The program contains a brief description of the original autograph manuscript which notes that it is contained in 16 notebooks written on the recto of each leaf, begun in 1911 and finished in 1914 E-156; 8.8 X 5.4 X 0.1 inches; 16 pages; Signed by Author .
