A charming book of poetry published by the celebrated English poet Samuel Rogers. This edition contains the poem Human Life, a set of notes analysing the poem, and two further poems: Lines Written at Pæstum and The Boy of Egremond. Previous owners bookplate to the front pastedown, reads 'This book belongs to L. Kordas' and features a charming illustration of a squirrel. In a morocco binding with gilt detail and edges. Externally, smart with some rubbing and bumping. Personal bookplate to front pastedown. Browning to pastedowns. Hinges starting but sound. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean. Contemporary ink annotation and light spotting to front. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
