Original colour photo cover paperback. Previous owner's name. It all began with a garden planted on St. Croix Island in 1604 by followers of Sieur De Monts, who was accompanied by Samuel de Champlain, a geographer and historian. Forced to move to Port Royal the following year, the little French colony struggled on until overrun by the British in 1613, after which it was batted back and forth between English and French until the expulsion of the Acadians in 1755. 94 pp..
