Arnold Blanch. 374pp. Octavo [21 cm] Light gray cloth with a gilt stamped title on a brown ink stamped panel on the backstrip. Publisher's yellow top stain. Illustrated endsheets. The extremities are gently bumped, there is a barely perceptible moisture stain in the top fore-edge corner of the rear board, and there is a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown. In the illustrated dust jacket, with a 1" closed tear and occasional chips to the edges. With Dale Morgan's commentary on WPA workers titled, "--- A Share in America," on the rear panel. Twenty-third volume in "The Rivers of America" series. More of a collection of short narratives than a linear history, this Morgan work was one of his most successful works and one of the most popular in the "Rivers" series. Illustrated by Arnold Blanch. Fitzgerald H26. Saunders 16.
