Title page date is 1872, copyright page states 1871; 491 p., clean and unmarked except for beautiful calligraphic signature of former owner on front end paper and front paste down, with date of May 6th, 1873; AEG; front gutter beginning to crack at foot but text block firm; black leather boards with tooled ornamentation; spine panel missing, with antique newspaper showing beneath; edges bumped; paper only mildly age-toned and very strong, with occasional foxing.
