Moderate spotting to the boards and edges, else near fine, without dustwrapper. Inscribed by Edward Anthony to the great boxing champion: "For Gene and Polly Tunney, with the sincere regard of their friend, Ed Anthony, March 27, 1941." Anthony, a noted writer of humor and verse, was a New York Herald journalist, and the publisher of Woman's Home Companion and Collier's Magazine. He was especially talented at imparting immediacy and freshness to his co-authored books.

Includes illustrations. A. A. Schechter was the founder of A.A. Schechter and Associates which became a significant New York based media firm. Edward Anthony got his start as a journalist on The Bridgeport Herald and then with The New York Herald in 1920-23. An associate editor for a short time of Judge, the humor magazine, Anthony joined the staff of the Crowell group of magazines, later Crowell-Collier Publishing Company, in 1924. In 1928, he served as Eastern press director for Herbert Hoover's presidential campaign.
