About This Item

New York: HarperPerennial, 1992. Reprint. Paperback. Fine. 8vo. Pp. xii, 226. Chapter heading illustrations. Notes. Index. Bound in stiff, color wraps. Inscribed by Shenkman on the title page. Inscription in black ink reads, To Walt and Marie, Richard 4/23/05. Walt Crowley and Marie McCaffrey are perhaps best known as founders of HistoryLink, the online encyclopedia of Pacific Northwest history, and the first US website devoted to regional history. Crowley and McCaffrey also collaborated on an extensive list of books documenting Seattle history. In that capacity, Crowley's positions as a city planner, local television commentator, speechwriter and civic activism served him well.
