"Waltz ballad" - Caption. Words and music by Anita Owen. Illustrated title page by Starmer in blue, white, and yellow with an illustration of a young woman with daisies. Page 2 has excerpt and illustrated title page from Cross the Mason Dixon Line by Stanley Murphy Henry I. Marshal and an advertisement for Jerome H. Remick & Co. publications. Back cover has excerpt and illustrated title page from When It's Apple Blossom Time in Normandy, Song by Mellor Gifford and Trevor and another advertisement for Jerome H. Remick & Co. publications. In acceptable+ condition, with several small nicks and tears and creasing along edges. Paper is beginning to split along top and bottom of outer fold, but is still attached. Moderate overall aging and soiling to pages as well, but otherwise unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. Esther Anita Owen (1874 - 1932) was an American songwriter, best known for her 1894 song "Sweet Bunch of Daisies," which sold over one million copies. She published her first song at age 15 or 16, and became one of the most popular female songwriters of her generation, known especially for flower-themed songs.
