Moderate rubbing to cloth at corners of boards. Hinges intact. Some foxing to page edges.; xiv, (152) pages + 15 tipped-in plates (8 colour, the remaining 7 in various monochrome tints). Green cloth boards with gilt ibex illustration on front board. Page dimensions: 243 x 176mm. This copy has an undated contemporary inscription from the author's sister on the front endpaper "With every good wish for your happiness from the sister of the author who was a friend of your father's 35 years ago - Dorothy L. McBurney. Southbourne Amersham Hill High Wycombe". The author died at the age of 24. This volume contains 8 stories: The Scape-Goat; The Emerald of the Forest; The Ibex of Sha-Ping; Mountain Sprites; The Raiders; The Destroyers; Mountain Life at Close Quarters; The Spell of Laluni.
