American Book Company, 1904. Hardcover. Acceptable. Part of the Series of English Texts. Red cloth cover w/ "gilt" stamped cover and spine. Doubtful it's gilt, looks more like yellow pigment. Cloth boards are scratched and soiled. Spine is faded with rubbing along edges along hinge. Bumped/dented and worn corner tips and head and heel of spine. Front pastedown has delightful drawing, in pencil, of what appears to be a hobo smoking a cigarette. Artist/owner name next to the artistic handiwork. Foxing on paste downs and FFE. Rear pastedown and end papers have scribbling and writing, all in pencil. Spine cocked. Dirty textblock. Age-toned pages with underlining and marginalia. Spine is firm. 187pps.
