London: Longmans, Green and Co, 1952. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. This is the complete four volume set, in dustjackets and the publisher's illustrated slipcase. Vol I is Chaucer's England & the Early Tudors; Vol II is the Age of Shakespeare and the Stuart Period; Vol III is the Eighteenth Century; Vol IV is The Nineteenth Century. All volumes are near fine or better in like dustjackets. Vol I has a brief gift inscription to Lucy Wilson Benson, who went on to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for International Security Affairs in the Carter Administration, she was at that time the highest ranking woman ever to serve in the State Department.
