Illustrated with numerous Ansel Adams black & white halftone photo reproductions and several three-color diagram maps, one folding out. Includes bibliography by Francis P. Farquhar and chronology. Stiff paper covers printed reversed blue on white with titles and illustration front and back, white plastic comb, coated paper leaves. Previous owner ink markings to cover, single crack to comb spine, edges minimally rubbed, leaves crisp and bright. A crisp, cleanly printed copy of a deeply researched guide many times reprinted. Covers the history of the valley, roads, trails, camps, trees, fishing, Indians, flora and fauna, etc. With superb photography that wants a larger format than will fit in a backpack.
