NO creases. Bright, shiny, clean, square and tight. Sharp corners. NOT a library discard. NO owner's name or bookplate. NO remainder mark. Pages are creamy white. Fresh and crisp. A key reference. Listed in Katz (1994) as one of the best 30 books on the history of book illustration. Lavishly illustrated with 295 reproductions including 100 full page plates. From the preface: "It attempts in essays and illustration and by full bibliographical descriptions to give a comprehensive view of that time when England's illustrated books were as fine as any in the world."
